Rubee’s Debut

Saturday night was the first time I entertained in our home! I had some of my most important girlfriends over for some wine, fun and introducing the star of the evening, our RUBEE. It was such a comforting feeling seeing my friends arrive, get comfortable, nestle themselves in and fall in love with her little intricate charming details, just as I had back in July when I walked through her front door! 

As the evening went on and we were standing around the dining room table, enjoying the tasty appetizers and “bee” related sweet treats prepared, I had such a wonderful feeling of happiness about myself! This…this is the feeling she had been longing for! We stood around chatting about Rubee, our lives, work and families. As the chatter went on, I caught myself a couple of times drifting in thought and wondering how many times she had done this in the past? What kind of conversations were discussed in this very room? Did good friends like this come together and enjoy each others company like we were doing? I don’t know the answers to any of those questions that came to me in those moments, but I just knew at that moment Rubee was happy!

She was glad to have our guests there listening to how she came to be, and learn about all the families that came to be there before us. As she stood there 116 years strong, listening to the laughter and joy coming from all of us, I know and feel deep down that she is happy as can bee 🐝 that we are her owners!
